Global Leaders Network

Welcome to the Global Leaders Network – providing you a competitive edge

The Global Leaders Network is the latest innovation of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.  Funded by a generous gift from Fred G. Steingraber, Chairman Emeritus of A.T. Kearney, this cutting-edge initiative gives Kelley Direct students unsurpassed access to a world-wide network of business and thought leaders.
Imagine having instant access to:

  • A real-time chat with the President of a billion-dollar business unit on expanding their brand into a new market
  • A video lecture about entrepreneurship by the founder of a leading airline
  • A podcast from the CFO of a Fortune 500 company about the challenges of managing currency in the wake of the weakening US dollar
  • A discussion forum about a case study in which the actual case participant shares his or her perspective

How it works

The insights and perspective of the members of the Global Leaders Network will be integrated into Kelley Direct in a variety of ways, including:

  • Kelley Direct courses:  Kelley’s award-winning faculty will be able to bring the real-world experience of GLN members into their classes to supplement their teaching materials.
  • Direct student access:  Kelley Direct students will be able to access archived lectures, podcasts, or previous chat sessions from their desktop.  They will also be kept informed of upcoming activities in which they may be interested.
  • Clinics:  These are for-credit professional development courses that leverage the GLN

Clinics

Beginning in the fall of 2008, Kelley Direct MBA students will be able to enhance their professional skills through Clinics.  Clinics will leverage the experience of the members of the Global Leaders Network in topic areas such as:

  • Effective Communication for Leaders
  • Developing and Leveraging Talent
  • Managing Business-Government Relations
  • Executive-Level Negotiations
  • Winning in Emerging Markets

During the first in-residence, MBA students will be introduced to each of the above topic areas.  Then, during their first year, students will be able to enroll in a 1.5 credit hour Clinic in one of the topic areas.  During the Clinic, students will work on real-life, practical business projects with the guidance of GLN Members.
During the second year, students will take a second clinic.  Students will have the choice of taking a Clinic that continues to develop their “executive toolkit” or they can instead take a Clinic within specialty fields, such as Supply Chain Management or Market Intelligence.
