BBYO: Application Process

ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE DUE FEBRUARY 8, 2008

Ten Easy Steps to Completing the Application Process (steps can be done concurrently)*

1 - Prepare for, register, and take the GMAT.   See www.mba.com for more information. When you take the GMAT, have your scores sent to Kelley Direct (code GKS-8M-09).   In addition, please mail your unofficial score report to Rachel Hochheiser (see address below) with your other application materials.

2 – If English is not your native language, you must demonstrate proficiency in English prior to admission. To meet IU's minimum standard for acceptance to any graduate or professional program, you are required to submit your TOEFL scores.
If you did not attend college in the United States (meaning that you did not receive your degree from an American institution), then you should prepare for, register, and take the TOEFL (if needed).   See www.toefl.org for more information.   When you take the TOEFL, have your scores sent to Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (code 1325).   In addition, please mail your unofficial score report to Rachel Hochheiser (see address below) with your other application materials.

3 - Submit a Kelley application. (Only takes approximately 3 minutes.)

4 - Contact all post-secondary institutions attended and request two original academic records be sent to you in a sealed and signed envelope.   Make arrangements to have academic records translated (if necessary).

5 - Contact people who will write letters of reference on your behalf; ask them if they are willing to submit the reference online.   If so, be sure you have their preferred email address.   If not, have them write a letter of reference on letterhead and send the letter of reference to you in a sealed and signed envelope.

6 - Write your personal statement. (A statement, approximately 750 words, that identifies your academic goals, career objectives, why you are applying to this program, and the qualifications you have that make you a strong candidate for this program.)

7 - Update your resume.

8 - Save your personal statement and resume as one file.

9 - Submit the University application and application fee.   When submitting the University application, "upload" the file containing your personal statement and resume.   Be sure to include the names and email addresses of people who will be submitting letters of reference on your behalf in the "Recommendations" section of the University application.

10 - When you have received all academic records (two from each institution), send them (unopened) along with a copy of your unofficial GMAT score report/s, your letter of reference (unopened, if not submitted online), your resume, your personal statement and a copy of your permanent resident card (if required) to:
